Construction Update

Posted by Bob Martinazzi on March 7, 2011

The Physical Sciences Complex project construction is progressing.  As of Saturday, 77 out of 160 caissons have been installed and the base for the tower crane has been placed.  You can see the location of the tower crane base on the webcam.

The next major evolution will be the erection of the tower crane.  This will begin on Friday, 3/11/11 and should be completed by Monday, 3/14/11.  On Friday, single lane closures along Stadium Drive will occur to allow for the unloading of the crane components.  Flagpersons will provide the necessary traffic control during the offloading.

The contractor is also working on the chiller plant in the basement of CSS Wing 4.  Temporary closures of service parking and the Wing 4 loading dock may result as the contractor unloads materials.  These closures should be short in duration and will mainly occur between 7am-10am.
